Privacy Notice
Updated 9 October 2026
This notice covers enquiries and use of the Visa Consult NZ website, visaconsult.co.nz. It explains the information involved in contacting us and the choices available to you. It does not replace a service-specific privacy notice or engagement agreement.
Website operator and contact
Visa Consult Pty Ltd, ABN 98 699 059 026.
Australian business address: Level 24, 300 Barangaroo Avenue, Barangaroo NSW 2000, Australia.
For a privacy enquiry, access or correction request, or complaint, use our contact page and identify your message as a privacy matter. This Australian address is not presented as a New Zealand office.
Information you provide
When you make an enquiry, we receive the information you choose to submit, such as your name, contact details and a description of your plans or circumstances. We use that information to respond, administer the enquiry and maintain the related communication record.
You may choose not to provide requested information, but we may be unable to respond meaningfully without a contact method or a basic description of the enquiry. Provide information about another person only where you have appropriate authority.
Sensitive documents and further assistance
Do not send passport copies, medical records, financial statements, detailed relationship evidence or other sensitive documents with an initial website enquiry. Before further information is collected for a professional service, the purpose and appropriate channel should be explained.
Any later professional engagement may require identity, immigration, employment, education or family information relevant to the agreed work. The scope of that collection and any disclosure to a government agency or another professional should be addressed in the engagement arrangements.
Website and form technology
The contact page uses an externally hosted form. Information submitted through it is processed through that form service and the systems used to handle enquiries. Website hosting and related technical services can also process connection information such as an IP address, browser details and request logs.
Cookies, embedded services and any analytics or advertising technology enabled on the website may process technical information. Browser controls can limit cookies, but blocking scripts or external services may affect the form or other functionality. Do not assume that all information is stored within New Zealand.
Use and disclosure
Enquiry information may be handled by authorised team members and service providers supporting the website, communications and record keeping. Information should not be used or disclosed for an unrelated purpose without an appropriate legal basis.
Cross-border handling must be considered under applicable privacy law. Where the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 applies, its requirements for overseas disclosure are not waived merely because you use this website. Service-provider processing and disclosure to a separate recipient can involve different obligations.
Email, SMS and follow-up communications
By submitting an enquiry or consultation request through any form on this website (including the externally hosted form), or by otherwise providing your contact details to us in connection with an enquiry, you expressly consent to Visa Consult contacting you by email, SMS and telephone in relation to your enquiry. A statement confirming this consent is displayed at the point of submission on each website form. This consent is relied upon for the purposes of the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007 (NZ) and, because the website operator is an Australian business, the Spam Act 2003 (Cth).
Communications sent in reliance on this consent may include acknowledgement of your enquiry, consultation booking confirmations and reminders, a limited series of follow-up emails or messages relevant to the type of visa or matter you enquired about, and general information about our services that is relevant to your enquiry. These communications contain general information only and are not immigration advice specific to your circumstances.
We use customer relationship management, email and SMS automation platforms to record your enquiry and send scheduled follow-up communications on our behalf. These providers may store information outside New Zealand, including in Australia, the United States and the European Union. Where the Privacy Act 2020 applies, its requirements continue to apply to that handling.
Every commercial electronic message we send will clearly and accurately identify Visa Consult as the sender, include our contact information and contain a functional unsubscribe facility. You may withdraw your consent at any time, free of charge, by using that facility or by contacting us through our contact page. We will give effect to your request within five (5) working days. Withdrawing consent does not prevent us from sending communications necessary to administer an existing engagement or required by law.
We do not sell or disclose your contact details to any third party for that party's own marketing purposes, and we do not use purchased or harvested address lists. If you believe you have received an electronic message from us without your consent, contact us so we can address it promptly. You may also contact the Department of Internal Affairs, which enforces the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007.
Security and retention
Reasonable safeguards are required for personal information, but no online transmission or storage method is risk-free. Keep sensitive information out of general enquiry messages and contact us promptly about a suspected privacy incident.
Records should be kept only as long as needed for the purposes of collection and applicable record-keeping obligations. A later professional engagement may involve additional retention requirements.
Access, correction and complaints
You can request access to personal information held about you or ask for correction of information you consider inaccurate, incomplete or misleading. Identity verification may be needed before information is released. Applicable legal time limits and exceptions govern the response.
Raise concerns with us through the contact page. Where the New Zealand Privacy Act applies, information about your rights and the complaints process is available from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner. Rights under other applicable privacy laws are not excluded by this notice.
Updates and external sites
This notice may be updated as the website and its services change. External websites have their own privacy information. A link to an official immigration or professional body does not mean that body operates or endorses this website.
