Welcome to Visa Consult NZ
About Visa Consult NZ
Moving countries is a personal decision. It can involve a career, an education, a relationship and the plans of an entire family. Finding the right starting point should not require sorting through pages about the wrong country's visa system.
Visa Consult NZ is the New Zealand-focused Visa Consult website. Here you can explore New Zealand visa categories, understand important distinctions between temporary visas and residence, and make an enquiry about your plans.
Information organised around your situation
Our guides cover work visas, skilled migration, study, post-study work, partnership, visits and other New Zealand categories.
We distinguish a visa from occupational registration, a job offer from an immigration approval, and a possible future pathway from a guaranteed result. The category guides link to official sources so you can check the requirements that matter.
A clear first enquiry
Start by telling us what you would like to do in New Zealand, where you are now and whether a deadline is approaching. A short summary is enough for an initial enquiry. Sensitive documents should only be provided through an appropriate channel after their purpose has been explained.
Before any professional engagement, confirm who will provide the assistance, their authority to advise on New Zealand immigration, the scope of work and the fees. Sending an enquiry does not itself establish an adviser-client relationship or preserve an immigration deadline.
New Zealand advice and professional status
Personalised New Zealand immigration advice must be provided by a licensed immigration adviser or a person legally exempt from licensing. Australian migration-agent registration alone should not be treated as proof of a New Zealand licence.
Use the Immigration Advisers Authority's guidance to check the individual providing advice. We do not claim an approval rate or guarantee a visa, residence, employment or tribunal outcome.

This website concerns New Zealand. For Australian immigration information, visit the separate Visa Consult Australia website. The visa categories and rules are different.
